Psychometric (DISC) credits

SotsAI adds a behavioral reasoning layer to your internal LLMs so they don’t just generate answers, but help users adapt their communication to real people and real situations.

To do this, psychometric data must be available when calling SotsAI. If no psychometric data is available, SotsAI must not be called.

This page explains why that requirement exists — and why DISC credits are part of the platform.

SotsAI is designed to reason about how a message will be received, not just what it says.

Without psychometric data, SotsAI cannot:

  • identify likely interpersonal friction points
  • explain why a message may land badly
  • guide users on how to adapt their approach to a specific person

Without psychometric data, SotsAI cannot apply behavioral reasoning. In that case, your system should skip the SotsAI call and rely on your LLM alone.

You need DISC credits only when you need to create psychometric data.

You need DISC credits if you (or your LLM) do not already have access to psychometric data for the people involved in a conversation.

This is common when:

  • your organization does not run psychometric assessments
  • existing assessments cannot be reused safely by an LLM
  • psychometric data is locked inside HR tools
  • you want a lightweight, API-first way to collect this data

DISC credits exist to fill that gap.

They allow you to generate the psychometric data that SotsAI requires, without redesigning your stack.

DISC credits allow you to:

  • invite users to complete a DISC assessment
  • collect psychometric data securely
  • make this data available to SotsAI via a simple API

When your system calls SotsAI, it should always provide:

  • the situation context
  • the psychometric profile(s) of the people involved (one or two)

If psychometric data is missing, SotsAI cannot apply its behavioral reasoning.

DISC is a lightweight psychometric framework that describes communication and decision-making preferences. DISC is widely used in professional development and coaching contexts.

It does not diagnose personality
and does not evaluate performance.

It helps understand how people tend to:

  • communicate
  • interpret feedback
  • react under pressure
  • make decisions

SotsAI uses this information to help copilots adapt tone, structure, pacing, and intent to different people.

One DISC credit corresponds to one completed assessment.

Credits are only required to create psychometric data. They are never consumed when generating advice.

Once collected, that data can be reused indefinitely when calling SotsAI.

All data is handled securely:

  • email-based invitations only
  • no raw assessment reports exposed via the API
  • no personal data stored in clear text
  • encrypted in transit and at rest

DISC credits are:

  • not required if you already have profiles
  • not tied to usage of the /v1/advice endpoint
  • not a paywall on behavioral reasoning
  • not a requirement to use DISC if you already have profiles

They exist solely to ensure that psychometric data is available when you need it.
